I am a Cascadian national currently serving at a cultural-outreach center in the unexplored territories between New York and California. It is a land of contrasts. The natives are quite friendly, but cannot understand the concept of a woman in her 30s being unmarried and childless. It's my mission to promote understanding between my culture and theirs, but I am looking forward to returning to a country where I know curbside recycling, vegan Thai food, and independent music stores will be readily available!
